Chevalier Award For Kamal Hassan

The French Government on Sunday announced Chevalier award to Actor Kamal Hassan. After actor Sivaji Ganesan, Kamal Hassan is the second Tamil star to be honored by the French Government with the Chevalier de I'Ordre des Arts et Lettres (Knight in the National Order Arts and Letters). Sivaji Ganesan was honored in 1995.


People from Tamil Cinema industry and from across the country has started congratulating Kamal Hasan in receiving the honour.

Kamal Hassan debuted in 1959 as a child artist in "Kalathur Kannamma" which was directed by K Balachander. Kamal is hailed as the most versatile actor in India and has proved this in many films like Nayagan, Indian, Dasavatharam, Avvai Shanmugi and many more movies. 
Kamal has worked predominantly in Tamil language however he has also worked in Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam languages. He has worked as actor, producer, director, writer, singer, distributor, etc.
